Vastness (Coverage Breadth)

Coverage breadth of a website's topic: how many different aspects (attributes) of a given topic are described. One of three Topical Coverage pillars alongside Depth and Momentum. Broad coverage protects against Core Updates; the more topical connections you cover, the harder it is to 'kick you out'.

Keywords aren't separate islands, they're an archipelago connected by tunnels — if you have the whole archipelago, at least some tunnels lead to you. Vastness is measured by the number of topical clusters covered in the topical map (CORE + OUTER).

In practice, the 'go broad' strategy (broad coverage) provides safety, because with each Broad Core Update the semantic distances between topics change. Clusters that were previously close may drift apart. The broader the coverage, the lower the risk of losing positions.
