Process (How to?)
Lexical SemanticsProcess is a frame question type that answers 'how to do X?' and requires step-by-step instructions. The numbered list format lowers Cost of Retrieval and makes it easier for AI to parse and cite fragments, because the structure is unambiguous and easy to extract. Process questions are one of the most frequently generated sub-queries in fan-out, as users seek concrete procedures for immediate application.
The key principle is that each step should be specific and contain an action predicate (action verb), not vague statements.
For example: '1. Submit lease application online (5 min). 2. Provide KPiR or PIT from last year. 3. Receive decision within 24h. 4. Sign contract and pick up vehicle.' Avoid generalities like 'first prepare yourself' — AI has nothing concrete to cite in such a step.
In practice, add duration, required documents, or tools to each step — this increases Information Density and improves chances of earning a Featured Snippet. Process questions work excellently with Semantic Role Labels: Agent (who performs) → Predicate (what they do) → Patient (what receives the action).
