SEED-PAA (Query Expansion Tag)
Knowledge GraphsSEED-PAA is a tag in a query expansion system that marks sub-queries found in the People Also Ask box for the seed query (your starting query). This represents the first, closest level of topical expansion. Unlike HOP-PAA (questions discovered by 'hopping' through subsequent PAA sections), SEED-PAA questions directly relate to the central entity and carry the highest priority.
These sub-queries are tagged as CONFIRMED or SERP-ONLY in the SERP Grounding system, which means they're validated by real Google data. SEED-PAA sub-queries are the most valuable in the pipeline because they answer questions users ACTUALLY ask about your main topic.
For example, the seed query 'probate' generates SEED-PAA questions like: 'How much is probate?', 'Who has the right to probate?', 'How to calculate probate?'
In practice, SEED-PAA questions are ready-made H2 headings for your main article — don't invent structure from scratch, let Google show you what users are searching for.
